All these nurses have to do different tasks and therefore they need different education levels to start their career; however, you may also get to the most senior post by getting promoted from the most junior level of nurses.

If you want to start your career as a Certified Nursing Assistant then all you need to have is a high school diploma to get admission in a cna training program. This training program is usually of less than 3 months and it contains both theoretical and practical knowledge. If you want to start your career as a Licensed Practical Nurse then you need to have a one year diploma or a two year associate degree. You can start your career directly as a registered nurse with an associate degree or a 4 year bachelor degree known as BSN.

After getting your training, you need to get certified to start your career and to get your certification you will have to appear in an exam. There are different exams for different nursing ranks. After passing the exam, you will be certified and will be able to start your career as a nurse. A nurse usually works for 8 hours every day and get two days for rest in a week.
