This is accomplished by means of taking moisture that is present within the air and then using that moisture to help reduce the temperature of the unit itself. Once this has been achieved, the excess moisture will then be drained and removed by virtue of a hose that is strategically placed for this specific purpose.
Some air conditioning units will take this one step further and will actually recycle the moisture that they have acquired through the process of condensation and circulate it back into the unit for further cooling properties.
This is a significant feature because it means that because the temperature of the unit is always carefully controlled and regulated, the chances of the unit overheating is extremely low. This is of critical importance for hot, humid climates where the units are exposed to excess temperatures and where there is little opportunity for them to dispel the excess heat they generate as a by-product of the process.
