Phlebotomists are the people who normally work in the laboratories. These people were introduced to reduce the work load of doctors and nurses. Phlebotomists get special training and then they start working in a hospital or a laboratory. Phlebotomist is the person who draws blood, perform some manual tests on the blood and then use the automatic analyzer for the further tests. Phlebotomist also prepares the blood products to be used by doctors. All these tasks were performed by a team of doctors and nurses before the phlebotomists were introduced.

There are certain qualities a phlebotomist should have in him to work efficiently as well as effectively. They should be able to show calmness and patience in intense situations.
